Payments, Cancellations, Refunds
Payment: Payment of estimated chef's fees, groceries, and pantry fees are due at the time of scheduling the service.
Payment methods: At this time, I accept cash, cashiers checks, and local personal checks.
Payment methods: At this time, I accept cash, cashiers checks, and local personal checks.
Note: If your bank cannot honor your check, I will contact you to arrange for a CASH payment. If you cannot present me with cash payment, the service date will be cancelled and I will return your un-cashed check to you.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: Please give TWO DAYS NOTICE (48 hours) if you need to cancel the scheduled service. If you need to cancel the service and you've given two days notice (48 hours), I will refund your money in full. If you cancel the service AFTER groceries have been purchased (with less than 48 hours notice), you will not receive a refund.
Non-Access Issues: If I am unable to access your home to complete the service, I will make every reasonable attempt to contact you to resolve the problem. However, if attempts to access your house are unsuccessful, you will not receive a refund for fees and groceries.
Cook Date Change: I do not charge a service fee for date changes when they are made at least two days (48 hours) before our agreed-upon service date. However, if you change the cook date with less than two days (48 hours) notice, a $50.00 fee will be added to your bill. IMPORTANT: cook dates are extremely difficult (if not impossible) to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice as I will already have purchased your groceries and will very likely be booked with other clients. Please schedule service dates very carefully and give adequate notice so I can accommodate your schedule.

Additional Fees: FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS
There are several types of containers that are excellent for storing and heating prepared foods: Glassware, disposable plastic, and vacuum sealed plastic. During the Client Assessment discussion, we will determine which method (or combination of methods) works best based on two factors: menu items and your particular preference.
Generally, I recommend reusable glassware storage containers because the lids fit very tightly, they are reusable, and can go from freezer to oven or microwave very easily. There is a one time fee for the reusable glassware containers, usually ranging from $50.00 to $120.00, depending on the number of meals and how you want them packaged. These are the more expensive option but they are reusable and will be yours to keep. They will be used as the storage containers for the duration of your personal chef service.
Disposable storage containers are a good, cost-saving option. A $20.00 container fee will be charged every cook date (will appear in the "Imperishables" line on your invoice). You cannot put them directly into the oven but you can transfer the contents to an oven-safe baking dish. Punctured or warped containers will not be reused for your menu items as they will not be air-tight.
Vacuum-seal bags (eg: FoodSaver) are an excellent option for certain dishes that reheat best by submersion in hot water or in the microwave. They are not oven-save but they do produce an excellent reheated product. This product comes in rolls and can be custom sized. Cost is based on per-bag usage and will appear in the "imperishables" line on the invoice.
